VGL 2-Man Team Events
The VGL holds two, 2-man team events per season:
2-Man Team Net Score Multiplier
2-Man Team Net Score Best Ball
This event will be played as a two man team, also note your round will still be entered and count for your personal leaderboard score.
This is how it works:
1. VGL players who sign up will be paired up in teams randomly
2. Both players play normal round with normal scoring counted to league totals.
3a. NET SCORE MULTIPLIER - Once rounds are entered both players from each team take NET scores (handicap adjusted) and multiply together. That becomes your teams score for that hole.
example: player 1 scores 5 (net 4) and player 2 scores 6 (net 4) - hole total 4x4=16
Multiplied scores for each team for all 18 holes are added. Team with lowest total score wins. In the event of a tie, see official rulebook for tie breakers
3b. NET SCORE BEST BALL - After rounds are entered, for each hole, the player from each team with the lowest NET score on the hole (or “best ball”) serves as the team's score. The higher scoring player's score is thrown out for that particular hole.
example: player 1 scores 4 (net 3) and player 2 scores 6 (net 4) - team score is 3 for that hole
Net scores for each team for all 18 holes are added. Team with lowest total score wins. In the event of a tie, see official rulebook for tie breakers
Team bonus points awarded to each player as follows:
1st place - 150 bonus points
*if we get minimum 4 teams of 2
2nd place - 100 bonus points
*if we get minimum 5 teams of 2
3rd place - 50 bonus points
By using NET scores, it makes teams even as each player is playing against their own current league handicap.
If we end up with an odd number last person to sign up will be dropped from 2man team game, but can still play regular VGL round and scoring.
Rain or shine! if you dont play your round, your team will be disqualified.
